Lucas Silva admits future is out of his hands amid Manchester United and Arsenal interest

Real Madrid however remain the favourites for Lucas Silva of Cruzeiro.

Manchester United are believed to be just one of many teams interested in the talented Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva of Brazilian champions Cruzeiro.

In August his agent Luis Rocha confirmed that Manchester United were one of many teams to have expressed an interest in his client. Since then it has also become clear that Real Madrid are keen, seeing him as a potential replacement for Sami Khedira.

But United are not the only Premier League team to be linked with his signature. League rivals Arsenal are also said to be keen. Reports this month have seen Arsenal as the latest team to be looking into the signature of the player - who will cost €15 million according to Cruzeiro's president.

So while Arsenal and Manchester United do indeed remain interested, the truth is Real Madrid are the front-runners for his signature.

This week the player himself has once again insisted that Real remains his favourite choice. In an interview with Brazilian magazine Placar, as recorded in Marca, he has also made it clear that no matter what Real, Arsenal or United do - the decision ultimately lies with his current club:

"All I can say is that I will continue to be a Cruzeiro player. I'm really keen to play for a team like Real Madrid, due to the size and stature of the club. However, that's in the hands of the club and my company. Right now I'll try to enjoy the holidays after a fantastic year."
