Kyle Walker: Time out has been difficult 'mentally and physically'

The Tottenham Hotspur right-back has been reflecting on his injury problems.

Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker admits his time out injured has been 'difficult mentally and physically.'

The 24-year-old has been injured for no less than nine months with an abdominal problem but could be set to return in Spurs' Europa League tie at Besiktas tomorrow night.

Walker, however, admits his injury problems have affected him at Tottenham.

"It's been difficult mentally and physically. I've had to dig deep," Walker told reporters.

Staying positive, though, the right-back focused on the benefits of a less intense schedule, as well as outlining his aspirations for the coming campaign:

"I've been able to work on aspects of my game that I wouldn't have done had I been playing week in week out," Walker explained.

"I want to go as far as I can in every cup. It's an important game tomorrow. We want to finish top of the group."

Tottenham are already through to the Europa League knockout stages but the winner of tomorrow's match will top their group, although a draw will also leave Spurs in pole position.
