Liverpool fans are naturally disappointed after the side crashed out of the Champions League last night, after falling short in their bid to reach the knockout stages.
The Reds needed to beat Basel at Anfield to qualify for the last 16 of this season's competition but could only manage a 1-1 draw on what was a disappointing night for the Reds.
Their disappointment was compounded earlier in the second half when the substitute Lazar Markovic was dismissed 15 minutes after being introduced into the action at half time for seemingly lashing out at Behrang Safari when the Reds were chasing the game.
The Serbian however showed a little flash of what he could do as the Reds tried to start the second half better than they started the first as he looked busy on the ball and willing to get at the defence of the Swiss champions.
There has been plenty said on twitter about Markovic's brief cameo, and his dismissal.
Here is what a few had to say:
Lazar Markovic has a temper, all top players do. I like him now, he has some fire in him, he needs games to get his confidence going #LFC— SherlinLFC (@SherlinLFC) December 9, 2014
Markovic to start on Sunday please. Looked boss before the ref accepted his lifetime's supply of Tolberones.— Gareth Roberts (@robbohuyton) December 9, 2014
Markovic looked like the player I've been waiting to see yesterday, I have bare faith in him, he just needs to bulk up— Hussle! (@Kash_WingateLFC) December 10, 2014
Markovic starts out wide against the mancs for me. Showed in that 5 minutes what the rest couldn't do all night. Exceptional talent.— Five Times (@_TheSCOUSER_) December 10, 2014
