Southampton supporters took pleasure in Liverpool's demise last night, with Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert all coming in for some stick.
Southampton supporters were quick to remind Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert that the grass isn't always greener on the other side as the Reds crashed out of the Champions League last night.
The trio all left St. Mary's this summer to join Liverpool, but they have struggled on Merseyside and last night's draw with Basel compounded their misery.
Lallana did not even get on the pitch, watching the whole game from the substitutes' bench as the Reds dropped out of the competition, while Lambert and Lovren both put in poor performances during the match.
Lambert was replaced at half-time of the fixture, after an entirely ineffective first 45 minutes and it has led to Southampton fans questioning whether they will be regretting their moves now.
At the moment Ronald Koeman's side are looking down in Liverpool in the Premier League table and without Champions League football the move does look less appealing.
Lambert, Lovren and Lallana have all struggled to make an impact at Liverpool, with pressure growing on them all to start performing.
The trio set Liverpool back a sizeable amount of money this summer, but they have not been able to push the club on to the next level, as intended.
They all gave up hero status on the South Coast to move to Anfield and there was more than one Saints fan taking the opportunity to question whether they may now be wondering what might have been if they had stayed put this summer.
Here is the best reaction to the former Southampton's players' performances from fans of the club on social media site Twitter last night.
I hope Lallana is enjoying losing for a bigger team! #saintsfc— Ryan Bromley (@RSBromley) December 10, 2014

hope Lovren, Lallana and Lambert got a one year passport, as they won't be needing one next year. The grass is not always greener #saintsfc— David Maidment (@saintpahars) December 9, 2014
Lallana didn't get on. Lovren was woeful, Lambert got dragged. Well done boys #saintsfc— Dan Cottle (@dancottle18) December 9, 2014
Lallana and Lovren went for champions league football! Ha!! Well that didn't last long! #saintsfc— DELUDEDsaintsFAN (@theSAINTSscore) December 9, 2014
Hope Lallana's Champions League spell was worthwhile. Would have retired a Saints legend but cashed in for some group stage games. #SaintsFC— Let's Chat Saints FC (@Saints_Chat) December 9, 2014
