Diego Poyet targeting West Ham place against his father's Sunderland

Gus Poyet Press Conference Still

The 19-year-old wants to feature for the Hammers against Guys Poyet's Black Cats.

West Ham United's Diego Poyet has returned from his loan spell with Huddersfield Town and is raring to go.

And the 19-year-old wants to get straight back into action - especially as West Ham will be facing Sunderland this weekend, his father Guys Poyet's side.

"I'd love to be play in the game against Sunderland. The squad is pretty much all fit at the moment so it will be difficult but I'd love to be part of it," Poyet told West Ham's official website.

"I've never played against a team my dad's managed, he'd left Brighton by the time I was playing for Charlton so we haven't crossed paths just yet.

"We're both looking forward to it happening one day, we've been joking about it recently. We won't talk about it this week, after the game I'm sure whoever wins will have something to say!"

West Ham travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
