West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has given the strongest indication yet that the club want to sign Alex Song on a permanent contract.
The Cameroon international joined the Hammers on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
Song, a former Arsenal star, has been a huge success at West Ham so far this campaign, his impressive performances in midfield proving key in the side’s rise up the Premier League table.
In nine league appearances, the 27-year-old has created 10 chances, won 50% of his duels, and has a pass accuracy of 79%.
Gold has now made it clear that West Ham want to sign Song on a permanent deal.
West Ham are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 27 points from 15 matches.
