Celtic will rest two first team players for the clash with Dinamo Zagreb with another still out injured.
Celtic face Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday already assured of their Europa League qualification.
As a result of that, they are intending to rotate their squad for the clash, and have left club captain Scott Brown behind.
Speaking at a press conference, assistant manager John Collins said: "Scott Brown has stayed at home.
"He's on a booking and he deserves a rest. James Forrest has stayed at home too. He'll be ready for the weekend and Charlie Mulgrew is still out."
29-year-old Brown had played in every game so far, scoring once, but due to his combative nature he is always capable of picking up a yellow card.
After the group stages the cards get wiped by UEFA, but to lose him for the first leg of the knockout round would be unfortunate, so they are exercising sensible management.
Collins went onto add that they are going the Croatia to win: "There is a chance there will be one or two changes in the squad but it is important to get a positive result.
"The lads have done terrifically well to qualify and ultimately we want a result."
