Arsenal strolled to a 4-1 win against Galatasaray last night as the Champions League group stage ended.
Arsenal had too much for Galatasaray last night as a stunning strike from Aaron Ramsey was the pick of the bunch for the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger will be pleased with how his players reacted to defeat at Stoke last weekend to secure an impressive 4-1 win, which gave their travelling fans something to smile about.
Here are our player ratings for the game.
Szczesny – 6
The Pole was solid when he was called upon but generally he didn’t have too much to do during the game.
Debuchy – 8
What a relief for Wenger to have him back. Subbed late on but he looked solid in all areas.
Mertesacker – 7
Wasn’t given as ragged a time as he suffered at Stoke. Played well and kept his cool in the pressure situations.
Chambers – 7
Switched to a centre-back position but never really put under pressure by the Galatasaray attack.
Bellerin – 7
Plenty of pace and dynamism going forward. He pressed well high up the pitch in an unfamiliar position.
Ramsey – 8
Back to his goalscoring best. His second goal was unstoppable as it flew in from distance.
Flamini – 6
Struggled to cope with the pace a little bit during the opening exchanges but eventually found his footing as he got into the game.
Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8
One of his best performances in recent memory. He used his pace well, got in behind Galatasaray and made it difficult for their full-back to get forward.
Campbell – 7
Worked hard throughout the game but will be annoyed he didn’t grab a goal.
Podolski – 7
Put Arsenal ahead in no time at all. He’s definitely got a role if Wenger chooses to keep him.
Sanogo – 6
There are definite areas where he needs to work on his game. Can’t fault his enthusiasm.
Maitland-Niles – 5
Confident and assured on the ball but Arsenal’s intensity wasn’t the same once they got a lead.
Zelalem – 6
Fitted into midfield nicely and looked composed in possession.
O’Connor – N/A
