Leeds and Fulham meet on Saturday, how do two of their most creative players compare?
Neither Leeds United nor Fulham supporters will be writing home about their seasons so far with much pride. Both sides have sacked a manager and suffered an inconsistency that has defined their campaigns.
On Saturday, though, Fulham travel to Leeds, as 16th in the Championship meet 18th. And three points either way could provide a considerable push in the right direction as the busy Christmas period fast approaches.
|Assists||Chances Created (per game)||Touches||Accurate Crosses||Dribbles Won||Successful Final-Third Passes||Minutes Played|
As Opta stats show, neither has quite fulfilled their creative potential so far this term - but both have undeniably showed flashes of what they are capable of.
Put simply, if there was anyone you would look to for a moment of magic, Adryan would be the man (though not the only one) for Leeds and Ruiz (again, not the only one) for the Cottagers.
Statistically, the more experienced Ruiz has edged things so far this season, although he has had more game time. Both playmakers have registered two assists - but the 29-year-old averages marginally more chances created per match. He also gets more involved, averaging more touches, accurate crosses and final-third passes.
Where 20-year-old Adryan outshines the Costa Rican, however, and many others, is his dribbling. Adryan averages 1.5 dribbles per game and could achieve far more when he truly reaches his peak.
Providing they both play on Saturday, though, who will make more of an impact at Elland Road?
