Tottenham Hotspur are favourites with the bookies to sign four players this January, including Aston Villa's Fabian Delph and Southampton's Jay Rodriguez.

According to various bookmakers, Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to sign Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi, Schalke's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar , Aston Villa's Fabian Delph and Southampton's Jay Rodriguez.

According to BetVictor, Tottenham are 5/1 favourites to land England international Fabian Delph in the next transfer window, with Liverpool (7/1) and Everton (13/1) just behind.

In the race for highly-rated attacker Mauro Icardi, again BetVictor have Spurs at 5/1 favourites ahead of Liverpool (7/1), with Chelsea (13/1) and Bayern Munich (21/1) also named in the market.

While PaddyPower have given small odds on Spurs landing strikers Klass-Jan Huntelaar (4/1) and Jay Rodriguez (2/1) this January - odds much smaller than competitors Arsenal and Liverpool in both markets.

January promises to be a busy period for Spurs this season, with various different names being linked with both the exit and entrance at White Hart Lane.

The North London side have picked up just 21 points from their first 15 games this season, recording a negative goal difference in the process. A draw against lowly Crystal Palace at the weekend wasn't enough to calm frustrations and a good January is a necessity for Mauricio Pochettino if he is to get the fans back on his side.

Jay Rodriguez will come as no surprise to Spurs fans that have come accustom with the name constantly being linked to their club, despite a knee injury disrupting his season up to now.

according to reports, the former Burnley hitman could return next month, just in time for Pochettino if he does decide to make a move on his old player.

Icardi, Delph and Huntelaar are all said to also be on Pochettino's radar, but carry larger odds than the Southampton attacker.

Delph, who is currently nursing a shoulder injury, does look unlikely to leave this January and new Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini will be reluctant to see a key player in Icardi exit the San Siro so early into his reign.

On paper, Huntelaar looks to be the most viable option for Pochettino. However, it may come down to whether the Argentine manager fancies moving for the experienced forward, rather than look to sign a younger striker.
