Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has been speaking about some of the club’s former players.
In an interview with Inside United later published by the club’s official website, the Colombian revealed which former striker he most admired as well as revealing his admiration for a number of other ex-United men.
“I always admired Ruud van Nistelrooy in my position,” Falcao said. “He was a star attraction for me.”
The former Netherlands international had an outstanding time at Old Trafford, scoring 149 goals in 215 appearances.
United’s on-loan forward has a fine record himself but he is yet to get firing since his summer move from AS Monaco, scoring just once to date.
If he can get back to full match fitness Falcao is still expected to be a great addition to United’s squad and he certainly knows a lot about the players who wore the shirt before him.
Speaking about Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and David Beckham he said, “They are legends who press all the right hero buttons.
“Eric Cantona as well; he was a very exciting and entertaining player to watch.”
Now it is up to Falcao to try to make his own mark at the club in the months ahead, with the season looking increasingly promising with each new result.
