Robin van Persie is relishing Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has said that he is looking forward to playing against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Red Devils will head into the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on the back of five successive wins, the latest of which came on Monday.

Van Persie scored twice at St. Mary’s Stadium as United overcame a determined Southampton side to win 2-1.

The win has lifted Louis van Gaal’s United team up to third in the Premier League table with 28 points from 15 matches, and Netherlands international Van Persie is eyeing a win against fierce rivals Liverpool next.

“The next game is Liverpool (at Old Trafford on Sunday), so we’re looking forward to that," United's official website quotes him as saying. "We are really happy that we are on the way up now. We have to keep the momentum going.”

United will be favourites heading into the match against Liverpool, as the Reds are struggling for points and good performances.

Brendan Rodgers’s side are struggling both in attack and in defence, but the Red Devils should know that the Merseyside outfit can step up their game against the big sides.
