Liverpool's hopes of reaching the Champions League knockout stages hang by a thread tonight, with only a win good enough to see them qualify from Group B.
Poor results away from home have hamstrung the Reds in this Champions League campaign, and they lie two points behind second placed Basel ahead of their clash with the Swiss side tonight.
Basel have a number of players that could send Liverpool packing at Anfield, including centre back Fabian Schar, central midfielder Marcelo Diaz and target man Marco Streller, who scored the winning goal when the two sides met in Switzerland back in October.
Yet tonight, Basel boss Paulo Sousa could call upon 17-year-old forward Breel Embolo, who will start the game from the bench against Liverpool.
Embolo, born in Cameroon, is one of the most highly rated Swiss teenagers right now, and it's believed that Manchester United - along with a host of other clubs - will be in attendance tonight to watch him should he come on as a substitute,
Everton, Newcastle, Southampton and Tottenham are just some of the Premier League clubs also watching Embolo, who would cost between £7m and £10m.
An impressive cameo against Liverpool would surely see his price rise even higher, but United will particularly be watching with intent as Louis van Gaal seeks to add a younger forward - and fans will be hoping that he plays his part in knocking Liverpool out.
