Nani's renaissance at Sporting Lisbon has juddered to a halt with reports claiming that his thigh injury is fairly serious.
Despite his undoubted natural talent, Nani frustrated fans at Manchester United with his inconsistent form and was allowed to leave on loan during the summer.
After a shaky start to life back at Sporting, Nani found his feet and has turned in some impressive performances, which some even suggesting that he may be brought back to Old Trafford.
However, Nani sustained a thigh injury on Friday and will miss the Portuguese side's Champions League clash with Chelsea with a prolonged spell on the sidelines now looking likely.
According to A Bola, Nani won't play again in 2014 and is trying to rehabilitate to avoid missing matches at the start of the New Year.
