Manchester United, Accrington and Yeovil fans react on Twitter to Cup tie

Louis Van Gaal

Manchester United have been handed a trip to Accrington Stanley or Yeovil Town in the third round of the FA Cup.

Accrington Stanley or Yeovil Town have been handed a potential mouth watering third round FA Cup tie against Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United.

United are one of the teams that all sides always look out for when the names are drawn for the third round and it’s a draw which will delight all parties involved.

Accrington and Yeovil will battle it out in a second round replay, with a home tie leading to a bumper crowd and a big pay day for whichever side makes it through to the next round of the competition.

As far as United are concerned, they have avoided their main Premier League rivals and while van Gaal would have preferred a home tie, he’ll be confident that his team have too much for lower league opposition.

It will also allow van Gaal to continue the trend of using younger players, which he’s been showing for much of this season.

That will allow those players to enhance their experience levels against difficult opponents, who will look to rough them up and will try to use difficult conditions to their advantage.

It’s win-win for Accrington and Yeovil because the tie effectively sets them up financially for the rest of the season and they’re under no pressure with United the heavy favourites for the game.

United also have bad injury problems, which have plagued them throughout the season and whoever faces them in the third round will be hoping to use that to their advantage.

The tie takes place on the first weekend of January after a busy Christmas and New Year period for all involved.

Here’s what fans from all sides made of the draw via Twitter.
