Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher hits out at Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho for accusing the Newcastle United ball-boys of time-wasting.

What goes around comes around.

That seems to be Jamie Carragher’s reaction to Jose Mourinho’s claims about Newcastle United time-wasting on Saturday.

Following Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to the Magpies at St. James’ Park in the Premier League, Blues boss Mourinho blamed the ball-boys for the result.

“We wanted to play more football, but it was not possible because of a few things I thought didn’t belong any more to top-level football, but still belong here,” The Guardian quotes the Portuguese as saying.

“The ball disappeared, the ball doesn’t come, another ball comes, the ball boys run away. These kinds of situations that are, unfortunately, still part of the game. But no complaints.”

On Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Carragher was asked to give his take on Mourinho’s comments.

“Maybe those ball boys were watching the game at Anfield last season when Jose Mourinho gave a masterclass in time wasting,” replied the former Liverpool defender.

Carragher was referring to the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield on April 27, 2014.

Mourinho’s side won the match 2-0 to dent the Reds’ chances of winning the league title and were accused of time-wasting.

What goes around comes around.
