QPR latest: Harry Redknapp targets Robbie Keane, Charlie Austin backed to stay

The latest Queens Park Rangers transfer news, views and rumours.

Robbie Keane

Harry Redknapp may have already been linked with Jermain Defoe this year but the QPR boss is now setting his sights on another former Tottenham Hotspur striker.

Indeed, ex-Spurs forward Robbie Keane is a January loan target for the R's coach - although he hasn't yet spoken to the former Tottenham man about a move.

"The MLS market is one that we've got to look at. Robbie's a good shout - he's a good pro," Redknapp told reporters.

"He would be the ideal type to have around for sure because he would give us something. I haven't spoken to him yet but he would be an interesting player."

Charlie Austin

Meanwhile, QPR defender Nedum Onuoha has backed striker Charlie Austin to stay at Loftus Road for the long haul.

"Yes of course [there will be interest in him] but he is enjoying his time here," Onuoha told the London Evening Standard.

"I don't think Charlie is the type of person that would want to leave if things didn't go well because he's liked being at QPR so much.

"This is a good group of players and good bunch of team-mates. It's an enjoyable place to be. I don't see many people breaking their necks to get away, whether we're doing well or badly."
