Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse was his side's match-winner against Chelsea - but admitted after the game that he didn't know why he started the game from the bench.
Cisse has suffered from knee trouble lately but says he is 'okay' and doesn't know why he wasn't in Alan Pardew's starting XI.
The Newcastle forward, however, ended up the scorer of a brace during the 2-1 win over Chelsea, suggesting it may have been a tactical move from Pardew that A) worked to perfection or B) went wrong, prompting the Magpies coach to bring Cisse on to change the game.
"The gaffer just said score a goal. It’s very, very good to play at St James’ Park," Cisse told reporters after Newcastle's 2-1 win over Chelsea.
“I feel fit. The injury isn’t difficult to manage, I just need to do my gym work and I do it all the time. I am okay.
“The gaffer made the decision to put me on the bench. I don’t know why.
“I’m confident I will fully recover. I’m not young, I’m 29. I just wait for my time and even if it’s just five minutes I’ll try to do well for those five minutes.”
