No Nolan, Valencia or Collins - Is this West Ham's best starting XI?

If you were Sam Allardyce and had to pick your best starting XI right now...

Such is West Ham United's current squad depth that choosing their best starting XI would be a tough job for the shrewdest of managers.

Sam Allardyce's wealth of options, however, can only be a good thing for both the boss himself and the Hammers. After all, they do sit third in the Premier League table...

But who would make the east London side's best starting XI right now? Were they close with the team they had out for the second half against Swansea City?

The goalkeeper and back four look a sure bet, with James Collins potentially missing out. Up front, meanwhile, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll looked deadly together. Enner Valencia, Mauro Zarate and Carlton Cole consequently miss out.

Midfield is the hardest area to judge, though, and the likes of Morgan Amalfitano, Kevin Nolan and more may not be able to oust West Ham's top four.

There is such an embarrassment of riches at Upton Park at the moment, however, that several changes to the team below would still result in a side very close - or maybe even better - in ability.

West Ham best XI?

Adrian, Aaron Cresswell, James Tomkins, Winston Reid, Carl Jenkinson, Mark Noble, Alex Song, Cheikhou Kouyate, Stewart Downing, Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll.
