Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has been singing the praises of teammate David de Gea.
The Spain international goalkeeper has been in great form so far this season, and a key figure in the Red Devils’ defensive unit.
De Gea has been voted as the Player of the Month for October and November, leading his compatriot Mata to underline his importance in the team.
“Against Stoke, David de Gea played yet another key role and you voted for him as the Best Player of the Month twice in a row,” the 26-year-old wrote on his blog.
“It’s not easy for a goalkeeper to win these kind of awards, what he is doing this season is very commendable. Congratulations, my friend.”
De Gea has been one of the best players in the Premier League and is arguably the best goalkeeper in England at the moment (on current form).
The 24-year-old former Atletico Madrid star has kept four clean sheets in 14 league appearances, while making an average of over two saves per game.
De Gea will be in action later tonight when United face Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium, and one would expect him to keep the Saints attackers at bay.
