A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Monday evening.

Tottenham are interested in Palermo forward Paulo Dybala according to TalkSport, with fierce rivals Arsenal also reportedly trying to secure his signature.

TalkSport cite Sky Italia reporting that Spurs want to step up their interest in the 21-year-old as Mauricio Pochettino may look to add more firepower to their attack in January. Southampton's Jay Rodriguez has been the striker strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane form much of the season, given the pair had previously worked together at St Mary's.

Left-back Ben Davies has said that his personal performance during the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace was one of his best as he enjoys regular football in the Spurs first team, and said towards the end of the game the side was content to take a point.

He told the Tottenham Journal: “Was that my best game so far? I think it’s one of them. In the last couple of games I’ve been pretty solid. It’s nice to get a run in the team because coming in and out can be quite difficult – it’s hard to get your rhythm. I thought I had a solid game and offered a bit going forward as well.

“At the beginning of the game we were looking to get the three points but, as the game wore on, I think we were trying to get the clean sheet after soaking up some pressure, and we’ll take the point.”

Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino has called on the Premier League to allow more rest for sides after European games according to the London Evening Standard.

Spurs this week face a trip to Istanbul to take on Besiktas on Thursday before returning to Premier League action on Sunday against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Pochettino said: “We do not feel the Premier League helps us,” he said. “When we play Thursday in Istanbul, we will arrive home very late and then have a trip to Swansea. It is very difficult to prepare with one less recovery day.

“If we had one more day, maybe if we played on the Monday, then it would help and it would help the football as well."
