Manchester City risk creating an awkward reunion at the Etihad Stadium if they follow through with their reported interest in Layvin Kurzawa.
The Monaco left-back has emerged as a top target of Manuel Pellegrini, who is looking for an upgrade on his current options in the left-back position, but he has a history which striker John Guidetti.
Although Guidetti is currently on loan at Celtic, his blistering form may have convinced City to give the Swedish forward another chance when his temporary move expires, and that could lead to a rather hostile reception from the French left-back next summer.
Kurzawa and Guidetti had a very public dispute on the football pitch earlier this year when France under-21s faced the Swedish side.
Both players took the limelight from the match, but it wasn't so much for their actions with the ball.
Kurzawa started off the dispute by celebrating in Guidetti's face, when he scored what looked to be a late winner for his side.
It was to be the on-loan Celtic man who would have the last laugh, though, as his nation scored straight from kick-off and he returned the favour.
Guidetti ran straight up to Kurzawa after the ball hit the back of the net and emulated his salute celebration, before the entire team joined in with the tormenting after the final whistle blew.
It means there is likely to be some bad-blood between the pair, even now, and given Guidetti's famously volatile temperament it will be interesting to see how he would react to playing with someone he has had such a public falling out with previously.
