Celtic's Anthony Stokes hails Efe Ambrose and 'immense' Craig Gordon

The striker is full of praise for the Bhoys defender and goalkeeper.

Celtic fans knew they were losing a top goalkeeper in Fraser Forster this summer.

Luckily for them, however, Craig Gordon came in as his replacement - and has been exceptional so far this season.

Supporters have previously expressed their delight at the goalkeeper's form, while striker Anthony Stokes has now hailed the 'immense' Scot.

And it is a similar scenario with defender Efe Ambrose, who has replaced the injured Jason Denayer, another man Stokes has heaped praise on after another Celtic clean sheet against Motherwell at the weekend.

“Efe has come in and done very well,” Stokes told Celtic's official website. “Obviously Jason has a niggle at the minute but we have that quality in the squad – if someone is injured or is lacking form someone can step in and take their place – and Efe has been outstanding.

“They have been doing very well. We have been strong at the back and Craig Gordon has been immense since coming in. We have momentum at the minute, winning games and we're keeping clean sheets as well.”
