Arsenal’s communications director Mark Gonnella has taken to Twitter to dismiss claims Jack Wilshere will be out of action until March.
Claims earlier this week suggested the England international had suffered a setback as he recovered from ankle surgery.
But writing on the social media site Gonnella said, “Jack Wilshere has not had a setback. On schedule for return to squad as per original plan; 12 weeks from injury.”
Wilshere was taken off in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in November which would suggest the Arsenal player is due back in February, and how they can do with him given their injury problems and fluctuating form.
Arsenal suffered a 3-2 defeat to Stoke City on Saturday and manager Arsene Wenger will surely want to get his first-choice starting XI on the pitch on a consistent basis in the second half of the campaign if possible.
