Jak Alnwick admits he 'couldn't have dreamed of a better debut' after starring in Newcastle's 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea were previously unbeaten this season but that record was ended after a double from Papiss Cisse, meaning another record - Jose Mourinho never having won at St James' Park - was maintained.
And it fell to Alnwick to make several superb saves after injuries to Tim Krul and Rob Elliot. Naturally, he was delighted when reacting on Twitter after the game.
Thank you for all your tweets. Couldn't have dreamed of a better debut. Great win and great team performance #nufc— Jak Alnwick (@alnwick42) December 6, 2014
Three other members of the Magpies' goalkeeping department also took to Twitter to heap praise on Alnwick for his performance against Chelsea, meanwhile.
The injured Krul and Elliot were joined by 17-year-old Freddie Woodman as the tributes poured in for Newcastle's Alnwick.
Twitter, in general, was full of praise for the 21-year-old, who fared wonderfully well in the face of real Chelsea pressure - especially late on.
