It was only the forward's third appearance of the season - and not from the start as some had expected while top scorer Britt Assombalonga was suspended.
But Blackstock was still enthused to get some game time under his belt and admitted it was great to be back at the City Ground.
Was great to be back on the city ground today shame that we couldn't get the win!! #nffc— Dexter Blackstock (@dexblackstock23) December 6, 2014
Jamie Paterson, meanwhile, tweeted that he was unhappy with a penalty decision that went against Forest in Charlton's favour.
Paterson was brought down in the box and many felt a Nottingham Forest spot-kick would have been the right call.
Not happy with the peno decision need to watch it back though! On to next week #3points— Jamie Paterson (@jamiepaterson12) December 6, 2014
The draw leaves Forest in 10th place in the Championship, three points off the play-off places and nine points off league-leaders Derby County.
Charlton are level on points with Stuart Pearce's side and sit a place below, with Forest traveling to Rotherham United next and Charlton hosting bottom-of-the-table Blackpool (who have picked up in form recently) in their next league fixtures.
