'Trust me' - Ipswich skipper's warning to Leeds United

Ipswich Town

Ipswich captain Luke Chambers has been previewing his side's Championship clash with Leeds.

Ipswich Town skipper Luke Chambers has warned Mick McCarthy's side won't be taking Leeds United easily later today.

Leeds recently beat Championship leaders Derby County 2-0 after a double from Italian striker Mirco Antenucci.

But Ipswich captain Chambers says the second-placed Tractor Boys won't be making the same mistake as Derby.

“There might be a few coming on Saturday that see where we are in the table, see where Leeds are in the table (15th) and think ‘this is going to be an easy win’. Well we certainly aren’t thinking like that,” Chambers is quoted as saying by the Ipswich Star.

“We know we have to be right on our game and right on top of them from the first whistle. No-one is taking their foot off the gas or taking anything for granted, trust me.

“Being in the top two won’t change our approach or mind-set. We’re there to be shot at now and we’re fully prepared for that challenge.

“The gaffer always keeps us on an even keel. We know that every game is different and that it’s about maintaining consistency.”

Ipswich Town host Leeds United at 3pm.
