Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado has said that he and his teammates are determined to pick up all three points against Crystal Palace.
“I certainly hope we can beat Crystal Palace again,” Tottenham’s official website quotes Soldado as saying. “We have to get the three points at home and this will be a good opportunity for us to do so.
“I always look forward to playing, no matter who we are up against. I remember scoring at their ground last year, my first official goal for the Club, and I recall people saying to me afterwards: ‘Welcome to the Premier League!’”
Tottenham will be favourites to win today, but they will be under pressure given that they were at the end of a 3-0 drubbing by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Prior to that defeat, Mauricio Pochettino’s side had won three competitive games in a row, with their best performance of the season coming against Everton at White Hart Lane last weekend.
Today, Spurs will be looking for a repeat of that display, as manager Pochettino himself has suggested: “It’s important to keep the feeling and try to play in the same way as we did against Everton. This is our challenge, to build and to move forward every game.”
Tottenham are currently 10th in the Premier League table with 20 points from 14 matches, five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
