Motherwell 0-1 Celtic: Anthony Stokes’s early goal enough for Bhoys

An early goal from Anthony Stokes saw Celtic get the better of Motherwell 1-0 away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Celtic defeated 10-man Motherwell 1-0 at Fir Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Anthony Stokes opened the scoring for the Bhoys after just six minutes when he shot home from close range after being teed up by Stefan Johansen.

James Forrest could have doubled Celtic’s advantage on 13 minutes, before Iain Vigurs had a chance for the hosts.

Vigurs had another chance for Motherwell, whose chances of picking up anything from the match were severely reduced midway through the second half when Simon Ramsden was sent off for bringing down Forrest.

John Guidetti had two chances in quick succession thereafter, while Emilio Izaguirre also came close on two occasions.
