Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has backed Tottenham Hotspur to get the better of Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Tottenham’s three-game winning run in all competitions came to an end in midweek when they went down 3-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
It will be interesting to see how Mauricio Pochettino’s side pick themselves up, but Owen believes that they will win against Palace.
“Crystal Palace continue to be a handful in the final third and punch above their weight in the league this season,” the 34-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Spurs have come from behind in recent PL games against Hull and Everton respectively and whilst being far from convincing, should just edge out the Eagles.”
Tottenham have indeed not looked convincing even when they were winning, although last weekend’s 2-1 home win against Everton was their best performance at White Hart Lane this season.
Playing at home could given the Spurs an advantage, although given their vulnerability at the back and inconsistency in their game, Palace could get something from the match.
