The Premier League is replete with top-class players. While Alexis Sanchez is carrying Arsenal on his own, Hugo Lloris is making save after save for Tottenham Hotspur.
Angel di Maria is a force in attack for Manchester United, while Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard have been sensational for Chelsea so far this season.
But who is the best of them all, the player who is head and shoulders above the rest in the Premier League?
Sergio Aguero, according to former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen.
Hope Aguero is ok. Would be a huge loss to The Premier League if its best player is missing too long.— michael owen (@themichaelowen) December 6, 2014
Owen was referring to Aguero’s injury in the opening minutes of Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Some will agree with Owen, some will not, but no one can doubt Aguero’s quality. He is a world-class striker and has been so for some time.
Arguably City’s most important player over the past three or so years, the Argentina international is one of the best strikers on the planet.
Perhaps Luis Suarez’s form overshadowed him last season, but this term the 26-year-old is getting the recognition that he deserves.
