Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes that his side “lack creativity” against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Spurs headed into the Premier League clash at White Hart Lane determined to win the three points and bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in midweek.
However, the North London outfit had to settle for a point, as the game ended in a goalless draw.
Pochettino has admitted his disappointment at the final result and has highlighted one key area in which his players struggled.
Mauricio: "I'm disappointed but the result was fair. We created chances but it was a difficult game." pic.twitter.com/sovWSVdu3g— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) December 6, 2014
Mauricio: "We lacked creativity and it wasn't easy. We wanted to get the three points but it was tough." Interview on Spurs TV shortly.— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) December 6, 2014
Given the quality of players in the Tottenham team, creativity should not be a problem, but it appears that they do need to work in that area.
One could have dismissed today’s draw as ‘one of those days’, but this has been a problem for Spurs throughout the season.
A home draw against a Palace side struggling for survival is simply not good enough for a team aiming to break into the top four of the Premier League.
