'Gutted' Fulham goalkeeper apologises on Twitter, Watford man celebrates

Fulham Turnstiles

Marcus Bettinelli was sent off against the Hornets and took to social media to say sorry, as Daniel Pudil thanked supporters.

What do you do when your side is under pressure? Win 5-0, of course...

That's how emphatic Watford's response was after losing four Championship games on the bounce.

Troy Deeney grabbed a hat-trick, as Almen Abdi also netted a brace to give the Hornets a famous away victory at Fulham - a side who were only last season playing their football in the Premier League.

And to make matters worse for the home team, goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli was sent off early in the game. The Fulham shot stopper took to Twitter after the heavy defeat to apologise to team-mates and supporters.

It was a case of nothing but celebration for Watford's Daniel Pudil, however, who thanked the Hornets faithful for cheering the side on to a huge victory.

Slavisa Jokanovic's side are now back into the play-off places, with Watford only three points off league-leaders Derby County (who play later today).

For Fulham, meanwhile, their recent momentum was checked with at the very least a hint of a reality check. Kit Symon's team are 16th in the Championship with 22 points from 20 games.
