Crystal Palace striker Marouane Chamakh is ready to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Eagles will take on their London rivals at White Hart Lane and will head into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at home.
Chamakh has played against Spurs a number of times, and he has now revealed that he does not like the North London club.
“Not really, never at Tottenham, but it’s OK,” the 30-year-old told the Croydon Advertiser when asked if he ever gets a good reception against Spurs .
“Before I didn’t like this team and so it’s an opportunity for me and for Palace to do something very good there. It fires me up all the time (to do well against Tottenham).”
Chamakh’s comments are certainly going to please Arsenal fans. The Morocco international was on the books of the Gunners from 2010 until 2013, and it seems that he has continued to foster ‘dislike’ towards Tottenham.
Arsenal and Tottenham are also fighting for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, which means that the Gunners supporters will want Chamakh to do well and score against Spurs.
Palace will head into Saturday’s encounter placed 15th in the Premier League table with 13 points from 14 matches, while Tottenham are 10th with 20 points.
Chamakh has scored one goal and created 12 chances in 11 Premier League appearances so far this season, while having a 72% pass accuracy and a 67% shot accuracy.
