Tottenham are interested in signing goalkeeper Ali Ahamada, according to a report - but would his signature cause concern regarding Hugo Lloris?
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a potentially concerning transfer market move.
The French side may consider cashing in on the goalkeeper in January, to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
Ahamada, 23, is a former French under-21 international and has made five appearances in Ligue 1 this season.
A promising goalkeeper, any move to Tottenham would pose serious questions over the future of number one stopper Hugo Lloris.
Lloris is highly regarded, and coveted by a number of Champions League level sides.
With Michel Vorm signed only last summer, the addition of Ahamada would indicate he or the Dutchman would have Mauricio Pochettino's trust in goal.
Lloris may have made an uncharacteristic error in midweek against Chelsea, but is a key figure in the Spurs side. Selling him would not only harm the side, but send out the wrong message about Tottenham's ambitions once again and cause unrest among the rest of the squad.
Ahamada may be a potential bargain, but it's probably better for Tottenham they allow Benfica a clear run at him.
