Tottenham and Liverpool linked Jackson Martinez's agent gives update on future

Porto striker Jackson Martinez is unlikely to be going anywhere in January, a blow for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, credited with interest.

Jackson Martinez is not interested in moving on this January, claims his agent.

The Colombian has continued his prolific form of the last two campaigns, bagging 14 goals in 18 games for Porto in 2014/15.

The striker has been linked over the past fortnight with a transfers to Tottenham or Liverpool, with one report in the Metro even claiming Spurs would offer Roberto Soldado in part-exchange.

That has now been rubbished by the 28-year-old's agent, who says he does not plan to leave Portugal.

Henrique Pompeu told TMW: "There is a lot of chatter, but has an agreement with Porto and will respect it. He does not leave Portugal in January."

Martinez signed a new contract in the summer, but managed to get the release clause of €40 million reduced to €35 million, on the basis he would not leave in January.

He is in form, and has seemingly no intention of breaking this, and his representative is letting teams know so.

If he continues scoring, his options will increase in the summer as he will have put together three solid seasons in Europe, and at a cheaper price than a year ago, it's surely inevitable he will get his big move, it's just whether the Premier League sides who would have wanted him now, can hold on until then.
