Former Fulham and West Ham United defender Tony Gale has named three Tottenham Hotspur players who should start regularly.
“They are playing Mason and Bentaleb at the moment,” Gale told Sky Sports. “That’s the way forward. They have got some big-time Charlie players for me.
"For me, Harry Kane has to start, Bentaleb has to start, Mason has to start. These are the future of Tottenham Hotspur.”
The comments of Gale, a former Crystal Palace star, will be agreed upon by many Tottenham fans.
Striker Kane’s recent performances have been truly encouraging; he is, in fact, outperforming both Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor. Mason is enjoying a very consistent season, while Bentaleb’s talent is unquestionable.
The problem with using these players regularly is their lack of experience. Tottenham are fighting for a top-place in the Premier League, and one wonders whether these three youngsters should always be thrown in at the deep end.
Perhaps what Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino needs to do is field the players who are in form and find that right balance between experience and young blood.
