Predicted Newcastle and Chelsea line-ups: Two changes each

Match between Newcastle United and Chelsea to be played on Saturday 6th December 2014 at 12:45. Venue: St. James' Park, Newcastle.

Chelsea travel to Newcastle United on Saturday having got back to winning ways this week.

The Blues’ 0-0 draw at Sunderland raised a few eyebrows but Jose Mourinho’s men defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 on Wednesday evening to reinforce their grip at the top of the table.

Newcastle will be relatively pleased with their result against Burnley – if not their overall performance – and the Magpies will want to make an emphatic statement against a side some are suggesting could remain undefeated all season.

Newcastle injury concerns: Fabricio Coloccini has a muscle injury but has been tipped to return for this encounter. Sammy Ameobi has a knock but should feature while Rolando Aarons is also nearing a return.

Newcastle absences: Tim Krul is ruled out with an ankle injury while Ryan Taylor, Davide Santon, Siem de Jong and Gabriel Obertan are also unavailable.

Chelsea injury concerns: Gary Cahill has a knock but has a 75 per cent chance of making it.

Chelsea absences: Nemanja Matic is suspended until December 13 while Nathan Ake is out injured.

Predicted starting line-ups:

Newcastle United – Elliot, Janmaat, Taylor, Dummett, Haidara, Abeid, Tiote, Gouffran, Cabella, Ameobi, Cisse

Chelsea – Courtois, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Fabregas, Mikel, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Costa
