Arsenal's tradition of developing fine young footballers continues - with exciting academy duo Semi Ajayi and Ainsley Maitland-Niles taking part in first-team training with the Gunners on Friday afternoon.
It is not the first time Ajayi has done so, with the 21-year-old having trained with the senior side ahead of the Manchester United clash - and also making the bench against Hull City.
This time, he was joined by striker Maitland-Niles, as boss Arsene Wenger looks to do as much as he can to aid Arsenal's academy players.
His focus on youngsters perhaps explains his interest in Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings, while there are numerous examples - Hector Bellerin, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calum Chambers etc - of Wenger's concentration on youth in the first team
"It’s one of the values of our club,” the Frenchman told Arsenal's official website in March of this year. “We want to be very successful without neglecting the need to give a chance to people. I want it to be part of our tradition and I also want to develop a spirit inside the club that makes the young players be faithful to this club."
Maitland-Niles will also travel to Stoke City for Arsenal's Premier League clash against the Potters.
