Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has backed Tottenham Hotspur to win against Crystal Palace in the Premier league on Saturday.
Merson had predicted Spurs to lose each of their last three league matches, but he was proved wrong on two occasions.
This time the 46-year-old has backed the North London outfit to pick up all three points against the Eagles at White Hart Lane.
“Believe it or not, I think Tottenham will win this,” Merson wrote on Skysports.com. “I think they were quite good against Everton, though I didn’t fancy them against Chelsea, at all.
“I think Palace were made to look good by Liverpool and I don’t think they are. It was a shocking result against Villa.”
On paper, Tottenham should win on Saturday, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side will head into the encounter on the back of a 3-0 drubbing by Chelsea - and that is certainly going to affect them.
Last weekend Spurs gave one of their best performance at White Hart Lane, overcoming fellow top-four hopefuls Everton 2-1 at home.
Tottenham fans will expect a similar result and probably a better scoreline against Palace, who are just a point above the relegation zone.
