Michael Owen believes that Monday’s Premier League clash between Southampton and Manchester United at St. Mary’s Stadium will have goals.
“Southampton impressed at the Emirates midweek and despite registering just the solitary shot on target, they controlled large parts of the game and were unlucky not to hold out for a point,” the former United striker wrote on Betvictor.com.
“United have now won their last four on the spin but remain susceptible at the back and have taken just 6 of their 25 points away from Old Trafford.
Both sides have a terrific array of options in the final third and the game looks sure to provide goals.”
Given the way Southampton and United play, goals should be expected on Monday.
Having lost against Manchester City and Arsenal in their last two matches, Ronald Koeman’s Southampton will be determined to get back to winning ways.
This will make things tough for United, but they should still have enough to get the better of their hosts and continue to consolidate their place in the top four of the Premier League table.
