Michael Owen explains why Everton won’t win v Manchester City in Premier League

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen looks ahead to Saturday’s Premier League clash between Manchester City and Everton.

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has backed Manchester City to win against Everton.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side will host the Merseyside outfit at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

City will head into the contest as the favourites, having won their last four competitive matches, and Owen believes that they will pick up all three points against Everton.

“City have taken a while to warm to the task this season but appear to be clicking into gear and should better Roberto Martinez’s side at the Etihad,” the 34-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Everton controlled both of their matches with Spurs and Hull in the week without being clinical enough in the final third and against a red-hot City, and a red-hot Sergio Aguero.”

With Sergio Aguero banging in the goals left, right and centre, one should not be surprised if City register a comprehensive win against top-four hopefuls Everton.

The Citizens have scored 10 goals in their last four competitive matches, including four against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

Everton are a far better side than Sunderland, of course, but getting a point at the Etihad should be deemed as success for Roberto Martinez’s team.
