The Norwegian wonderkid has been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, and Liverpool look to be the favourites for his signature.
Having already visited the training complex’s of Real Madrid and Manchester United, the 15-year-old toured the Reds’ Melwood training ground, before training with the first-team squad on Friday. Earlier this year, the youngster admitted that Liverpool had always been his ‘dream club’, but he promised to make the move that best benefited his career - rather than holding to any allegiances he may possess.
However, a switch to Anfield seems most likely for the Stromsgodset prospect, and, with all his talent, there is real reason to be excited for any imminent arrival in England. Considering he is already a fixture in the full Norwegian international side - having become the youngest player to ever appear in a European Champions qualifier when he made his debut against Bulgaria in October - there is a good chance the attacking midfielder could work his way into the Liverpool’s first-team this season - especially considering Brendan Rodgers’ favouritism of youth.
Having trained with the Reds’ first-team, a host of their players have been given a first-hand viewing of Odegaard’s talents, and the reception to his presence was highly received. Voiced by central defender Kolo Toure, the Liverpool squad praised the youngster to the Norwegian media.
Quoted by the Liverpool Echo, Toure said: “I met him, he's a very good player.
“It [Playing with him] was very good.”
Having finished his trial spell with the Reds, fans will be hoping that any potential deal for the youngster will be wrapped up in the coming weeks, allowing the youngster to start fulfilling his potential as one of the best players in the world - whilst wearing the famed red of the Merseyside club.
