The Beast has had his say on the interest in current team-mate Lucas Silva.
Manchester United are believed to be just one of many teams interested in the talented Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva, who is coming off the back of an exceptional campaign with Cruzeiro.
Back in August his agent Luis Rocha confirmed that United and Inter Milan had made approaches to sign his client in the summer.
Since then it has also become clear that Real Madrid are keen seeing him as a potential replacement for Sami Khedira.
The player himself recently announced a desire to play for Los Merengues and now it is reported that Real Madrid have first contact over a January deal for the player.
But United are not the only Premier League team to be linked with his signature. League rivals Arsenal are also said to be keen. Reports this month have seen Arsenal as the latest team to be looking into the signature of the player - who will cost €15 million according to Cruzeiro's president.
Now, a current team-mate of the player and a former Arsenal star has been signing his praises. Julio Baptista played for Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in 2006 but did not do enough in his spell at the club to earn a permanent deal.
After stints with Roma and Malaga he went back to Brazil in 2013, joining Cruzeiro on a two-year deal.
The Beast, is therefore a team-mate of the talented Arsenal target and in an interview with Diario AS today he has been speaking about the player.
“He’s an amazing player. He’s the Brazilian with the most European profile. He is a midfielder who plays very well with the ball at his feet and that’s why he has been noticed.
"Lucas is very talented and, apart from that, he’s very young. If he started doing in Madrid what he has done here, he will be one of the greatest names in no time. He is complete. But he has to do it in Madrid.
“He is very centred. You tell him things and he tries to understand them and do them. He wants to learn. That’s very important. My best advice to him is to go if the opportunity arises because it will be the best experience of your life, and to try to learn as quickly as possible because the faster you learn, the better you fare in Madrid.
"I don’t know if he will go to Madrid. That’s not up to me. It’s up to the club.”
For Baptista then it appears that Real are the best location for the young lad and not Arsenal. Time will tell who snaps up Silva in 2015.
