Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled Nacho Monreal out of Saturday’s match against Stoke City, but hopes to have Kieran Gibbs back.

Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has been ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Stoke City away from home.

The 28-year-old left-back is still unavailable after limping up of the match against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

However, Wenger hopes to have England international Kieran Gibbs back in action, while goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Mathieu Debuchy are back in training.

Wenger also had news on the fitness of forward Theo Walcott and midfielder Abou Diaby.

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 23 points from 14 matches, just two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.

The Gunners have won their last three competitive matches: 2-0 against Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates Stadium, 1-0 against West Brom away and 1-0 against Southampton at home.
