Manchester United star also selects Chris Smalling.
Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera pulled out a surprise when picking his ideal club 5-a-side team.
He did not select number one goalkeeper David de Gea, also his former Spanish under-21 teammate, choosing Anders Lindegaard instead.
Bemused? Well he offers a valid reason, taking the assumption the opponents would be a team made up of remaining unselected players.
He told ManUtd.com: "Anders [Lindegaard], because I want to score against David [De Gea]!"
Herrera is great friends with De Gea off the field, with the goalkeeper and Juan Mata playing a key role in helping him settle at the club when he joined in July.
Mata was fortunate enough to make it in, with Herrera adding: "I'd pick Rooney because he's always very competitive and I always want to be alongside him. Smalling – he's aggressive and we need a defender! And Juan Mata because we know each other very well."
His comments show the high regard the often criticised Chris Smalling is held in; Danny Welbeck also described him as the toughest defender to face in training when he was at the club.
There's a strong chance Herrera's side would better the one Wayne Rooney selected last month - the England captain picked a team without a goalkeeper.
