Everton will have to cope with the best player on the planet when they face Man City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. That is the view of Pablo Zabaleta, who has hailed teammate and fellow countryman, Sergio Aguero, as the world's best footballer at the moment.
The City full-back claims Aguero is displaying the greatest form of his career so far and hopes the lethal Argentinian can continue playing at such a high level for the foreseeable future.
ESPN have quoted the 29-year-old as saying: "I think, on current form, Sergio is the best player in the world.
"I've known him a long time and at the moment he's showing the finest form of his career. Long may it continue.
"Everything he does, he makes it look so easy. He's sharp, clinical but he also works really hard for the team off the ball. That's something you have to appreciate from Sergio.
"Normally strikers want to play with the ball but he works ever so hard for the team, he's been great.
"He's the best striker in the world at the moment and we're very lucky to have him in our team."
While Aguero certainly has been a phenomenon this season, it's debatable to say he is the best in the world at this moment in time.
His double over Sunderland in the week took his goal tally to 14 in 12 appearances, and he also has three assists to go along with that. Aguero is the best form player in the Premier League at present, that is without question.
However when compared with players across world football then it's questionable to say he has been performing at a higher level than Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese sensation has 20 goals and eight assists to his name in just 12 La Liga appearances this season, which is quite an unbelievable record.
It would be fairer to label Aguero to best out-and-out striker in the world but when it comes to overall contribution to the team you can't look anywhere other than Ronaldo.
