Predicted Derby County team to play Brighton: Three changes from Leeds game

Predicted Derby County line-up to play Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday 6th December 2014 at 15:00. Venue: iPro Stadium, Derby

Derby County will be looking to bounce back from their shock defeat at the weekend, against a side they beat comprehensively in last season’s Championship play-off semi-finals.

The Rams, who struggled to deal with Leeds United’s combative nature, will have to prepare better for the match on Saturday as, like Leeds, Brighton will be up for the fight and looking to cause Steve McClaren’s men a little heartache of their own by knocking them off top spot in the Championship.

Brighton, who have won just one away game this season, will need to do more than they have in recent weeks if they are to achieve that as the East Midlands side have only lost the once at the iPro Stadium this season. However, with nine draws in 19 matches as well as the inclusion of Darren Bent, it should not be a task the table-toppers take lightly.

Predicted Derby County team to play Brighton and Hove Albion:

Lee Grant

Cyrus Christie, Ryan Shotton, Jake Buxton, Craig Forsyth

Omar Mascarell

Will Hughes, Craig Bryson

Simon Dawkins                                             Johnny Russell

Chris Martin

Subs: Kelle Roos, Richard Keogh, John Eustace, Paul Coutts, Jeff Hendrick, Jordon Ibe, Kwame Thomas

After the loss at Leeds, McClaren will undoubtedly shuffle the pack and give the players waiting in the wings a chance for the home game against Brighton.

Craig Bryson and Simon Dawkins are likely to replace Jordon Ibe and Jeff Hendrick after their cameos at the weekend immediately put Derby in the ascendancy, if only for the last 20 minutes.

Richard Keogh, who is thought not to be 100% fit for this weekend, could be on the bench as a precautionary measure and would be replaced by fan-favourite Jake Buxton.

We predict there will be good news for Kwame Thomas, however, as he is likely to keep his place in the squad after making his debut last weekend.
