Chelsea were 3-0 victors against the north London side but Neville was impressed by Kane's display nevertheless.
The BBC Sport pundit was less impressed, however, with Tottenham's defending, which he branded 'an absolute disgrace.'
“Harry Kane was Tottenham’s best player by country miles," the former Manchester United and Everton defender said on BBC highlights show Match of the Day.
“Tottenham’s defending was an absolute disgrace. Lloris makes the wrong decision [for the second goal] and it was a poor kick.
“When you make mistakes against a team like Chelsea, you get punished and that was the story of the game.
“I don’t think there’s any spine to the team and they get beaten too easily, particularly in defensive situations.”
Chelsea's win ended a run of three consecutive victories in all competitions for Tottenham, who host Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane next on Saturday afternoon.
