Ipswich Town loanee has been talking about his experience with Leeds United ahead of the two sides facing off this weekend.
Ipswich Town host Leeds this coming week, but their matchwinner against Charlton will have to watch from the sidelines.
Noel Hunt was a surprise loan addition seven days ago, and popped up to net a vital goal after coming off the bench.
He is ineligible to face Leeds this weekend, and has been discussing his tough time early this season, ostracised from the first team.
He told TWTD: "When it comes to matchday all you want to do is play so it's tough when you know you've got no chance of being anywhere near it. At times it feels like you're just training for the sake of training, but you can't think like that.
"You have to train with the mindset that you're going to be involved, even though you know that's not going to be the case, or else you end up dropping your standards."
Despite his poor record for the first team last season, Hunt was able to score regularly playing at under-21 level this campaign.
It was this which kept him in the running to join a Championship side and make an impact, rather than dropping down the divisions or simply letting the time pass until his contract expires.
His determination to improve and rescue himself from a poor moment has to be admired, even if his displays for Leeds last season brought anything but positivity his way.
